Accountable

So I have to show you how I am I doing on my small changes that I blogged about a few days ago.

Yesterday and today I have had a good nutritious breakfast BEFORE leaving for work.  I have drunk 3 litres of water a day (... and needed to pee every hour!!) and I went for a run yesterday morning! - Here comes the accountable bit ... I DIDN'T run this morning.. in my defense... oh alright!... my pathetic excuse was that I had a really bad nights sleep.
HOWEVER in addition to that I did do a 2 hour Kickboxing class last night, including 50.. YES 50! throw downs (in a row without stopping, but including a excruciating cry of pain during the last 3).

I have also been 'swapping' the lift for the stairs at work. 6 flights, and it doesn't matter how often I do it, the first three flights are "pfft, easy", and the burn starts on the transition between 3 and 4, and by the 6th I'm dying.

A Healthy Lunch

2 of these a day!
The stairs to my office

I recorded a little message while running ... If you can't understand me it's cos I was whispering so the other walkers didn't think I was talking to myself! LOL.  I said "I'm up, I'm running, I'm doing it" , "Check out this beautiful view" and "See ya"

Heading out to Park Run in the morning, knowing that my personal best time is not at risk of being set, but I'm going to do the best I can. Also planning a trip to the farmers market on Sunday, and some bulk cooking to prep some healthy meals for the week ahead.

As of this morning I weighed 80.4.... SOOOOOO NOT impressed to see that 8 again.  Weigh in Wednesday, lets see if I can get that 7 back.

Also found a link on Facebook today, that intrigues scares the hell out of me...
What do you think??

Oh and we signed up to do it again...jump through fire, crawl through mud etc

All going well, I will have some time to blog again tomorrow!  See you then.

Back to Basics

Time to Fess Up!
Time to admit that I haven't been blogging about weight loss, because I haven't been losing weight... in fact I have reverted back to my old habits, and if I keep it up I will revert back to where I started and I am not about to let that happen.

So at least 15 times I have started over, and not got to the end of the day before I have fallen off the wagon. I'm so frustrated with myself, and today was a particularly bad 'binge' day so I need to start again, again.  Obviously its not as easy this time around. The reasons excuses I have been using are - Its so cold, I'll wait until Spring (**excuse me, Spring started 19 days ago**),  Work has been getting me down, and I am eating through my emotions (**true, but lets find an alternative coping strategy**), I'm too tired - hitting snooze too many times in the morning... and the list goes on. I have lost my Just Do It mantra.

So what do I do to get back on track?

I think I need to :
Start small..Baby steps, and slowly build up momentum
Be accountable - Tell you what I have planned and own up if I don't do it
Go through the mind exercises again - Get real, Plan, and Set Goals.

So here we go -
Tomorrow I plan to start on the basics
WATER - Drink 2 litres (I didn't have any water today, or yesterday)
RUN - a morning run before work. If I leave by 6am, I am back by 6.45 and still have at least an hour before I need to leave for work,
BREAKFAST - Non-negotiable, no more "I'll have it at work", and then getting to 11am before realising I haven't had it.

So that's it! The plan for this week is above, I will check in tomorrow and let you know how it went.

Lets see how far I've come!

Today is the day that I have taken my Official Before shots for the" Before and After" photo part of the 12 week body transformation challenge.
I'm not going to post them here..yet, I will post them when I have the afters to compare with.  (they are also Bra & undies shots, so I need to build up some courage to get to revealing those).
I have to say that taking the pics (with the help of my hubby) was not as traumatic as I expected.  The pics weren't has horrific as I anticipated, and I am starting to see how far I have come.
Here are a couple of the non-official before shots (with clothing) that I am using to try and see how far I've come already.
Christmas 2010 ... its a photo of a photo.

May 2011 on a trip back to NZ, .. don't I look miserable.
November 2011...
at this point I was happy to be back in those  cargo shorts,
but  its really  not a good look.

It's funny, I can see when other people have lost weight, but can't really see it on myself. I am getting daily comments from people stating the fact, and it's hard for me to smile and say thanks, when I don't really believe it.. but you know today, I am starting to believe it.
The process of getting in my underwear and documenting my current body shape, weight and measurements spurred on a few more tests, the results of which I will show you here and now.

These shorts were super tight on this holiday in 2010,
And in Dec 2011, I was pleased that they were looser..but  it's still not a good look.

Here are the same shorts today.

Here are the grey pants my Mum bought me on one of her visits, these were my staple work pants, fit nicely for ages, and then started getting tight...

May 2011
The same pants today... didn't need to undo the zip to put them on.

Joe then had the bright idea to try on my jeans... I mean THE JEANS, the Levis that have been in my cupboard for 10 years, that I have always wanted to get back into.  I tried them a few weeks back and couldn't get them up over my butt, let alone done up... so I said "no, they are a long way off yet"
... his response.. "humour me!", so I did and ...

THEY FIT!!
and check out that smile on my face.

So over the course of writing todays blog, I am pleased to say I CAN SEE IT!

The Facts and a piece of string.

A.K.A  the low down dirty truth.

I believe this is a task that we tackle in Pre-Season anyway, but I am back to work tomorrow, and today is my last chance to get organised before the kick off to PreSeason tomorrow.

Ok this is the hardest post so far... as far as being honest and owning up to the state my body is in. Time for the figures.
However painful this might be it is also necessary. I mean, if I don't draw a line in the sand, then how can I measure how far I go?

So, I have said before that my heaviest ever (excluding pregnancy) was 102kg (101.9 actually-but that's just splitting hairs) and that was around the time we arrived in Australia in 2006.
About 6 months ago, I had snuck back up to 99.9, and I was damned if I was going to back into triple digits.  My Workplace started a 10 week challenge to increase activity. That's when I started Zumba. My exercise increased, but my nutrition was still out of control.

These graphs below show my weight-loss since August, the first one looks more impressive because the 2nd one has an extended range to include my goal... seems so far away...Sigh.

Where am I at today?

Weight: 93kg
Waist: 99cm
Hips: 119cm
Upper Thigh:68cm
BMI: 31.8 Obese

I'm not sure if I am measuring correctly, (like exactly the right place - my belly is big and there was a lot of places to choose from, I went with directly over the belly button... and do I hold it tight or loose, breathe in or out) but hopefully Michelle will give me pointers on that as well. I have also taken my cousin Cyndi's advice, and measured my waist with string.  I will label it and put it away, and on those days when the scales are not moving, and I'm getting disheartened, I will take out the string and compare then and now.

While I am at it, I'm listing my mini goals.  If I look at the end goal, it seems to far away and too unachievable, so i have thought of as many mini-goals as I can, to celebrate each one achieved.

Alrighty then, All that remains  is to Hit the "Publish Post" button... If you are reading this, I had the courage to do so.
