Accountable

So I have to show you how I am I doing on my small changes that I blogged about a few days ago.

Yesterday and today I have had a good nutritious breakfast BEFORE leaving for work.  I have drunk 3 litres of water a day (... and needed to pee every hour!!) and I went for a run yesterday morning! - Here comes the accountable bit ... I DIDN'T run this morning.. in my defense... oh alright!... my pathetic excuse was that I had a really bad nights sleep.
HOWEVER in addition to that I did do a 2 hour Kickboxing class last night, including 50.. YES 50! throw downs (in a row without stopping, but including a excruciating cry of pain during the last 3).

I have also been 'swapping' the lift for the stairs at work. 6 flights, and it doesn't matter how often I do it, the first three flights are "pfft, easy", and the burn starts on the transition between 3 and 4, and by the 6th I'm dying.

A Healthy Lunch

2 of these a day!
The stairs to my office

I recorded a little message while running ... If you can't understand me it's cos I was whispering so the other walkers didn't think I was talking to myself! LOL.  I said "I'm up, I'm running, I'm doing it" , "Check out this beautiful view" and "See ya"

Heading out to Park Run in the morning, knowing that my personal best time is not at risk of being set, but I'm going to do the best I can. Also planning a trip to the farmers market on Sunday, and some bulk cooking to prep some healthy meals for the week ahead.

As of this morning I weighed 80.4.... SOOOOOO NOT impressed to see that 8 again.  Weigh in Wednesday, lets see if I can get that 7 back.

Also found a link on Facebook today, that intrigues scares the hell out of me...
What do you think??

Oh and we signed up to do it again...jump through fire, crawl through mud etc

All going well, I will have some time to blog again tomorrow!  See you then.

Woman on a Mission!

Well,  #1 -  2 days late to tell you about weigh in.  Not that I really want to, because I remained the same. No weight lost... but on the plus side, no weight gained.  I know what I did, or did not do to cause this.  I ate a few things I shouldn't have, I didn't weigh or measure my food, and had too many excuses for exercise that I let get to me.... However, I think I now know how to maintain my weight when I do get to the ideal weight.

#2.. Easter, not being religious, really only means chocolate and public holidays to me. Easter is otherwise known as HELL WEEK for those of us on a diet (sorry healthy eating regime) and who love chocolate.
I had done very well and resisted all the aisles of chocolate bunnies, and eggs, and Hot Cross Buns for weeks, then on Thursday,... well my resolve... it dissolved.
1 tiny little 10g egg... I told myself "one won't hurt", but I know better, I know that "one won't hurt" is a lie because it's like opening flood gates.. 1 egg, turned into 2, ... then two little bunnies, then 2 more eggs (50g this time)....Argghh.
Easter Bunny came to work
these little devils wore me down
Nutrition wise, the day went severely downhill from there, although enjoyment factor was great. What with Celebratory work lunches, and work meeting and farewell drinks at the pub, followed by a missed bus, which caused me to have to miss my kickboxing class and have to go back to the pub to wait for a ride home... 3 beers and a pub meal later, I felt like the day was a complete failure.

But... we are in Week 8 of 12. One bad day (or good day if you see it that way) does not undo all that great work.
I am determined not to weigh the same next Wednesday, I am determined to have a great loss on the scales this week.... and i'm gonna work my butt off to make it happen.
As luck would have it ... I have a 4 day weekend, so there is absolutely no excuse to not exercise.

The Plan :
Today, Good Friday :
- 1km run (time trial) Burned 88 Calories, took me 6mins 1 sec. 40 seconds faster than 4 weeks ago.
- Zumba Class, 603 calories burned.
- Ate clean - took the kids to the movies even, and didn't get popcorn or anything.

Tomorrow, Saturday:
- 5km run.  My mate Sandra and I are going to try Park Run
- followed by the remainder of my week 8 fitness test.
- Going shopping to buy 1 Easter egg each for my kids... thats all, and maybe try on some smaller clothes while I'm there.
- Coming home to pull weeds out of the garden, and if that doesn't burn mega calories, I don't know what will.

Easter Sunday:
- Gonna get up early and head down to Burleigh Headland and do the walk, followed by a dip in the sea.  Followed by the rest of garden, if necessary.

Easter Monday
- 9.30 am Zumba Class
- Wet n Wild... have you felt the burn in your ass, walking those stairs to the slide?
- 6.30 pm Kickboxing Class

I have new focus, and with time to plan and organise, I will eat super clean, and come weign in wednesday, I am hoping to see that number start with a 7.

Saturday Super Session

Well, you may hear/see me mention SSS  or the Saturday Super Session, so I thought I better show you what it is...

Michelle's plan wants us to burn 500 cals each day Mon-Fri, and 1000 cals on Sat, Rest on Sunday.  Saturday because majority of us have the day off work, and its most likely the day when you may need to go out to dinner etc, so it's also the day of the 'treat meal'.
Saturdays mean working extra hard, cutting out your snacks, to give yourself double the calories for your evening meal, and resting on sunday... but if Saturdays doesn't suit, you can do your SSS on any day of the week.

So today, nearing the end of week 1 of the 12WBT I did my first official SSS.
Cass organised a Personal training session with my husband, and asked me to join her at 8am on a saturday morning.

We skipped (and I figured out that I could actually skip), we did leg-raises, Hindu & Japanese push ups (and for the first time I did push ups on my toes),  we did burpees, and jump lunges up the driveway incline driveway.  We then went out to the street and did shuttle runs, flipped and carried a big heavy tyre, did towel runs, then came back inside for boxing/kickboxing sets. (sets as in 8sets of 2 punches,  8sets of 4 punches,  8sets of 6 punches,  8sets of 8 punches,  8sets of10 punches, back down again with  8sets of 8 punches,  8sets of 6 punches,  8sets of 4 punches, and 8sets of 2 punches....let me tell you, that burns!  almost as much as balancing on one leg on foam, and bouncing a medicine ball against the wall...total of 120 times.  Far out!
There was more but my mind has blanked out the pain...Total session burned 700 cals, over 90 mins.

Then after that, ...well after an hour of rest, I went out an mowed our lawns.
this is not something I would normally do, even under normal circumstances, but our back lawn was so ridiculously long. After rain/sun/rain/sun for weeks, with Joe being out of action with his knee reconstruction, it had got out of control, and with our tiny little electric lawnmower it took me over 90 mins.
I must have emptied that tiny catcher close to 100 times...but I burned another 769 calories.
That is a total of 1469 calories burned in one morning!  Wahoo!

As for my treat meal tonight, I'm making pizza... a healthy version.
I will post my recipe and photos, and calorie count.
